
Binni is experienced in many aspects of library systems, including procurement, systems management, database management, and setting up websites (including this one).
Now employed as a Digital Resources Librarian, they have worked in libraries for more than twenty years, mostly in systems and team leadership roles. They have experience in most sectors, including special and independent libraries, public libraries and large academic libraries. They have a track record in selecting and implementing new library management systems and over the years have established strong relationships with software providers.
Binni is a trade union activist and is particularly interested in the equality and diversity work that trade unions and professional organisations can do for and with LGBT+ communities. They were the co-chair of the Steering Group to establish CILIP’s LGBTQ+ Network, and are now a member of its committee. In January 2020 they became a Trustee of CILIP. Later in 2020, Prospect recognised them with an invidual award for their equalities work.
